Scenar

S.C.E.N.A.R. stands for Self Controlled Energy Neurone Adaptive Regulation. A Scenar is a small, thin device powered by standard AA batteries. The Scenar "listens" to the body by recording the skin's electrical impedance, returning a new signal back to the body, and again listening to the reply -- a bio-feedback and treatment loop.

With Scenar, there is no diagnosis in the conventional medical sense - the body, via the Scenar device, will itself indicate what it needs. Scenar's interactive nature helps it to stand out even among the most powerful therapies loosely classed under "energy medicine": coaching the body and simultaneously tapping into its innate healing blueprint.

The Scenar's electrical impulses are extremely safe. They're tailored to mimic the natural electrical signals of your nervous system, and when you see the two waveforms on monitoring equipment, they are very similar. Except for very acute or emergencysituations, they’re set at a very low level. Scenar is based on principlces similar to acupuncture, exploiting the fact that an embryo's skin develops from the same tissue as its nervous system. We treat skin areas that map to internal organs and energy pathways.

Scenar has also achieved the Holy Grail of communicating with all the nervous system, including the C fibres. These are the thinnest and slowest nerve fibres, representing 80% of the overall nervous system. Crucially, they areable to release a far greater spectrum of proteins, called regulatory peptides, than the A and B fibres.

These substances control all of our gross biological functions (e.g. endorphins for pain relief, vasopressin for memory). It takes a truly special and powerful signal to excite the C fibres, but Scenar does this in a very elegant and safe way. Other electro-stimulation devices like TENS just excite the nervous system's easy-to-reach A and B fibres, the rapid information highways that communicate primarily with the muscles.

Scenar Re-Activates Healing Resources

After an accident, surgery, chronic or extreme stress, or disease, the body commonly provides a measure of healing, but how fast, deep and comprehensive this is depends on what other issues the body is dealing with. If the body is in a weakened, stressed or distracted state, its reaction to the damaging event or pathogen may be slow, leading to the condition becoming better established.

Then, after giving it a period of attention, the body often moves on to other priorities, allowing this part of the body or its systems to remain “stuck” in a low-energy pain and disease state. The area of injury or pathology (along with emotions and non-physical traumas) is also virtually sealed off, in an energetic or communication sense, rather like an energetic "cyst". This process is more common in our stressful, polluted 21st century lives, and as we grow older.

What the Russian researchers discovered was that they could help the body recognize and re-connect with these areas of pathology, called "small asymmetries", stimulate the C-fibres to produce cascades of neuropeptides, and shake the body out of the negative equilibrium it has reached in those areas. These energy cysts take energy to maintain, and deplete our overall vitality, so part of Scenar's action is to briefly introduce some chaos.

With chronic conditions, the challenge is to disrupt these stuck, often subconsciously safe and comfortable, states of balance that the body has worked out. Hence the resistance we sometimes see in people who consciously want to get better but who give up quickly before giving the therapy enough time to show results. They often come to believe that there is little hope for their condition, and cynical about all the failed attempts to heal it so far, yet end up going from therapist to therapist as the condition takes on a life of its own and comes to dominate their lives.

Scenar nudges the body into disequilibrium, reminds it of forgotten healing priorities, and guides it back into both a positive balance (homeostasis) and lack of pain. The body has both a blueprint and powerful resources for balance and self healing. Scenar breaks the cyst, reminds it of the priority, and coaches it to finish off the repairs.

What Happens In Scenar Therapy

Most professional Scenar devices give the therapist the choice of working in two modes, both of which have their place at different stages in a course of treatment, and depending on the type of condition being treated:

Subjective" mode, which is more intuitive and focused on observing visible or tactile reactions in the skin, and the client's responses. This generally uses one or more of several "brushing" techniques to look for areas of disturbance.

Energy blockages in these areas may be so strong (especially with fresh, acute conditions) that it's physically difficult to move the Scenar over them until the blockage has been cleared by repeated brushing. It's difficult to describe but once you've felt this "stickiness", you'll know exactly what I mean.

The other mode is "Objective" and this uses a wide range of formal protocols, where decisions on where to treat are based on comparisons of numerical readings on the display. Especially with chronic conditions, an Objective assessment is often the first technique used, placing the Scenar on a series of precise zones on the back.

During a course of treatments, several basic Scenar protocols are usually used, each designed to bring large body systems into alignment. The Scenar philosophy is to treat all systems connecting to the pain condition, and to mix things up so that the body can't adapt and move back into a negative equilibrium (which is what it has been doing with the condition until now) before it has achieved the result we're seeking.

Normally, only one major protocol area, such as the neck and shoulders, will be used in any one Scenar session, but in one of the longer treatments it may be appropriate to combine it with one or more mini protocols. New protocols are being developed all the time, leading to increasingly advanced ways of treating different conditions, and individual reactions to treatment.

Intimate areas of the body are not exposed, examined or treated directly. However, any area of the body can be treated indirectly from remove points. "Micro maps" are particularly useful, such as small areas on the hands which map across to other parts of the body.
