At Passion, we offer a treatment that works in tandem with your body to identify the root cause of the pain. The approach is designed to stimulate the nervous system and encourage the body's natural healing response.

What is the treatment?

We use a device called SCENAR – Self Controlled Energy Neurone Adaptive Regulation – which was developed around thirty years ago for the Russian Space Programme. The idea was to create a simple, fast and effective pain relief system for use on space missions. Many years later, the result is a treatment that is used extensively in hospitals and by medical professionals and athletes.

How does it work?

SCENAR therapy directly stimulates the natural adaptive processes of the body and nervous system to aid and encourage the body to heal itself. The SCENAR device emits tiny electrical impulses that mimic the nervous system. These impulses are altered automatically during the treatment, according to the feedback from your body. This allows the pain relief to be tailored to your specific needs.

The body responds to the stimulation from the SCENAR device by releasing natural compounds directly to the site of the pain.

Unlike other electro-stimulation devices, SCENAR communicates with the slowest and thinnest type of nerve fibres, which represent 80% of the overall nervous system. Crucially, these are able to release a far greater range of proteins, which enables results in minutes.

SCENAR is based on principles similar to acupuncture, exploiting the fact that in the womb, skin develops from the same tissue as the nervous system. We treat skin areas that map to internal organs and energy pathways to address pain in any part of the body.
